Princeton Community Hospitals Surgical Services Departments offer a variety of services in seven areas including:

1. Main Operating Room Six operating rooms offer
state-of-the-art technology and highly qualified
personnel Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m.
to 3:30 p.m. On-call staff are available for
emergency procedures. Call ext. 7584 to schedule
cases.

lithotripsy for kidney stones)

2. Anesthesia Six anesthesiologists and three certified
nurse anesthetists provide a variety of anesthesia
services that include general, regional, intrathecal,
blocks, monitored anesthesia, and limited pain
management. Call ext. 7584 to schedule cases.
3. PACU (Post Anesthesia Care Unit) Six cubicles are
available to provide first stage recovery for surgical
patients. Cardioversions and intrathecal
procedures can also be performed here.
4. Central Services Provides decontamination,
sterilization, and processing of equipment and
supplies for all areas of the hospital.
5. Day Surgery (Recovery/Admit Area)
This 25-bed unit provides private cubicles for admission
and second stage recovery for patients needing surgical
services. This unit is open Monday through Friday
from 5:30 a.m. until 9:00 p.m.
6. Oncology Unit (outpatient only)
Chemotherapy is provided by oncology certified
nurses in a 10-bed unit. This area is open Monday
through Friday from 7:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.

7. Therapeutics and Diagnostics This area is open
Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
On-call staff are available for emergency
procedures. Call ext. 7106 to schedule cases.
The following services are available:
A. GI Endoscopy - Video capability
EGD, ERCP, colonoscopy, sigmoidoscopy,
esophageal mamometry, Ph monitor, PEG, and the Stretta procedure for esophageal reflux
B. Urological Procedures - Video capability
Cystoscopy, uroflowmetry, sphincter
electromyography, rigiscan and transrectal
ultrasound of prostate with or without
biopsy cystometry.
C. Non-Invasive Vascular Lab
Lower and upper arterial studies, lower venous
studies for venous insufficiency only.
D. ENT Consult Room
Fiberoptic laryngoscopy, sinoscopy,
myringotomy, ear irrigation, nasal packings.
E. Minor Procedures
Breast procedures include the Mammotome System for breast biopsy. Bronchoscopic procedures include bronchial and esophageal brachytherapy.
F. Eye Procedures
Argon, krypton and yag laser procedures and
fluorescein angiography.
