The foundation sponsored its second annual spring gala on April 3 in the Parkview Center. The special event raised funds for a cancer resource center to be located in existing hospital space. The resource center will be available to cancer patients, their families and hospital staff, and will be useful in providing information to help combat cancer. Cost for the resource center was budgeted by PCH at approximately $125,000.

The gala was a joint effort of the foundation, hospital and community. The foundation’s Women’s Leadership Council organized the event. Three hundred people attended the black tie dinner, auction and dance, which raised more than $113,000. All of the auction items and many of the services and food for the event were provided by local businesses at no cost, making this event one of the most successful fundraisers in the region.

Proceeds from the gala, combined with the funds raised by last fall’s Charity Golf Classic, will provide total funding for the resource center.

On behalf of the hospital foundation staff and board, we wish to thank the hospital family, community businesses, organizations and individuals for the support that will make this new resource center a reality for our community and help win the fight against cancer.

Sincerely,
John Chapman, Executive Director
