Family Practice
Natasha Comerose
Physicians Assistant
Omar R. Kassem, M.D.
Welcome to Athens Family Practice. As a family practice doctor, I look forward to caring for patients of all age groups with a wide spectrum of medical problems. I have courtesy privileges at Princeton Community Hospital which allow me to provide continuity of care for you.
At the clinic, I work closely with a physicians assistant, but I am ultimately responsible for the care of all patients seen.
I hope the following information will be helpful.
Appointments
Appointments should be made for all visits. If you are sick, call the clinic and you will be given an appointment time among those already scheduled that day. Several time slots have been set aside for those who are acutely ill. Patients who are seriously ill will be seen ahead of others. Walk-in visits are discouraged. Patients receiving regular injections will be given special instructions.
To make appointments or inquiries, please call us at 304/384-7325.
Care for Children
Children should be undressed to diaper or underwear and gown for a well-child check-up. Bring an extra diaper and blanket so that your infant will not be uncomfortable while waiting.
Laboratory Tests
If your test results are abnormal, the clinic receptionist will set up an appointment and I will discuss the results and a treatment plan with you personally. Please be sure that your phone number in our chart is up to date. If you do not hear from us within a week, please call the office.
Prescription Renewals
Your prescriptions should be written or renewed during your regular appointment. If you run out of a medication, please call the clinic rather than doing without it.
Telephone Calls
The physician assistant and/or nurse has been trained to take medical inquiries during office hours. Please discuss the problem with her. After consulting with me on the matter, she will call you back with further instructions. If the problem is urgent, I will call you back as soon as possible. All other calls will be returned during the lunch hour or at the end of the day.
After Hours Emergencies
If you have an urgent problem after hours, please contact the Emergency Room at Princeton Community Hospital at 487-7000.
Billing
Deductibles/co-payments are payable at the time of service. All insurance carriers are accepted, including Medicare and Medicaid.
