The Cardiopulmonary
Department is staffed by certified and registered respiratory care
practitioners trained in cardiopulmonary anatomy and physiology, as well
as the latest techniques in diagnostic and therapeutic modalities. Staff
expertise lies in the understanding of the interaction between respiratory
medications, equipment and human physiology. All practicing therapists
must maintain continuing education and state licensure.

4. Cardiac stress testing (treadmill) -

6. Holter monitor – 24 hours

B. Pulmonary, diagnostics
1. Pulmonary function studies
a. Simple screening
b. Pre/post bronchodilator (bronchospasm)
c. Complete FRC, diffusion, TLC
2. Cardiopulmonary stress testing
3. Arterial blood gas
4. Co-oximetry
5. Bronchial provocation (exercise & inhalation)
6. Nutritional assessment
C. Pulmonary, therapeutics
1. Patient assessment (concerning respiratory
therapy treatment modalities)
2. Handheld nebulization (updraft)
3. Metered dose inhaler therapy
4. Incentive spirometry
5. Chest physiotherapy
6. Oxygen therapy
7. Aerosol therapy
8. Continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP)
9. Biphasic positive airway pressure (BIPAP)
10. Mechanical ventilation

Outpatient procedures are scheduled as follows:
1.
EKG, ABG – need not be scheduled.
2.
All other cardiac and pulmonary diagnostic
procedures require an appointment and may
be scheduled Monday through Friday.
3.
All pulmonary therapeutic procedures require an
appointment and may be scheduled Monday
